Nobel Prize for Literature
The winner of the 2006 Nobel Prize for Literature is Turkish writer Orhan Pamuk. The 54 year old has been involved in political controversy over the last year. He has a reputation as a social commentator, but sees himself as a fiction writer with no political agenda. His novels include The White Castle, The Black Book, My Name is Red and The New Life.
